Only send email notifications when backup job is not successful.

Already Exists

Please add the ability to configure backup job notifications so they are sent ONLY if there is a problem with the backup job. (eg: Job runs for too long, job failed, job only partially completed, etc..)


We have a lot of servers and a lot of backup jobs, including hourly jobs. We receive zens of "job started" and "job finished successfully" notification emails every day. We just ignore them because they are so many. However, if we ignore them.. then we might miss a notification that actually shows a problem.


It would be much better to only receive the emails that we need to see.. like if there is a failure or problem with the job. (Basically, please only send notification emails if the job is not successful.)

Hello Jim,


Thank you for leaving your feedback and opening a feature request. Just to clarify, JetBackup 5 Alerts are classified into 3 categories: Information, Warning, Critical. The Alerts you are receiving regarding "job started" and "job finished" are part of the Information Alert Class. In your Notification Settings for email, you could uncheck the Information box. This will make it so that you only receive email notifications for the Critical or Warning Alert Classes which would include the alerts regarding Partially Complete/Failed Backup Jobs.
