Add support for Backblaze B2 and Google Nearline

Both of these are good from a pricing and capability standpoint, so would it be possible to have them added?

if you offer b2 I bring at least 20 server to use your script

To separate votes for each destination properly, I think we should have a separate requests for Google Cloud Storage and a moderator should rename this request to Backblaze B2 only.

Now there is even more reason to consider adding backblaze B2 as follows:

Download Pricing 60%

We are thrilled to announce that we have reduced the price of Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage downloads from $0.05 to $0.02 per GB. What’s more, the first gigabyte of data downloaded each day is still free. Backblaze has removed the need to choose between cost and access when it comes to storing your data in the cloud.

You really should consider this option, their pricing makes then the cheapest and best around.

Hi Guy's

This option has been under consideration for over 7 months now.

There are as of today 131 votes in favour of getting this offered.

How many votes are needed before tis request is taken seriously as a great addition to Jet Backup?

I noticed this has been taken of page 1 of the list of requests, is this deliberate?

I hope to hear back from you.

JetApps, I'm paying for over 6 months for JetBackup and did not even start using it due to a missing B2 integration. Please provide us some additional info.

Hi Tomasz,

I have nothing to do with B2, I've only recommended it as an extra offering for Jet Backup.

It is still under consideration by Jetbackup and I don't even know if it will become an option

Hey guys,

Just notifying you that we will add Backblaze B2 on version 3.2.1.

That's great news,

Is it possible to provide an ETA.

Hi,

We are planing to release 3.2.2 to EDGE tier within 3-4 weeks (currently under our internal QA testing)

Please update your TIER to EDGE so it will pick-up the update automatically

Thanks,

Eli.

hey guys, I just purchased jetbackup. Looks awesome, but still no backblaze b2?? In WHM > Status: Installed - STABLE Tier 3.1.28

So where is 3.2.2 with backblaze support?

photo
125

Hi Tom,

From what I can gather release 3.2.2 has not been released yet.

This addition to jetbackup was agreed only several weeks ago, once it's released I'm sure documentation will be provided,

Personally, I have waited for months now, however I would prefer it is fully tested and working 100% before I use it.

I'm sure it will be available soon.

One doubt.. Backblaze alternative will work on incremental backup or just on the compacted backup?

photo

Hi Tom,

I hope it will work on incremental backups as well, but I think we will need to wait unless FI can shed some light on this.

Hey...

Just a follow up to update we are testing the 3.2.X branch on hand picked production clients to make sure it's as stable as possible before going public. Version 3.2.3 should finalize all the known bugs and will be released to these clients this week. If all goes well for a week or two, we will release 3.2.3 to public EDGE tier. If we still find major issues, we will continue to 3.2.4 and so on until it's stable enough for public.

Another clarification about the incremental backups - BackBlaze / Amazon S3 / Other Object storage are pretty much works the same in terms of "core" functionality. Each has it's own API methods and ways to communicate. We where working with Amazon CLI tool to provide a solution that is close enough to incremental (we start increment backups only after hitting the retention limit), but there are so many issues with it and the solution is slow and not so stable.

As we are working on an alternate solution for incremental backups that will work for all major object storage providers, first release of BackBlaze will only support tar.gz compressed backups. Incremental solution will follow in future releases.

Thank you for your patience :)

Thanks,

Eli.

Looks like Backblaze is now in production with the release of 3.2!

photo

it was better you changed status after release stable version because it's 3.1.28 currently and 3.2 is not released yet

photo
121

LOL... that's right. I set my instance to receive the EDGE.

photo

EDGE is not stable and maybe would be a problem included

Hey,

Yes, Currently BackBlaze will support only Compressed and Archived backups.

However, we are planing to add incremental support to all our backup destinations (BackBlaze, GoogleDrive and Dropbox)

photo

Any idea when you will have the addition of incremental support to all backup destinations?

photo

It would be great.

Same question

When does incremental backup work for Backblaze?

Luiz,

We are planning to start working on incremental solution for bucket storage around July-Aug

Hopefully all goes well :)

Thanks,

Eli.
