Central backup management

It would be nice if there was a central backup management to view the backup state of all servers in one location.

This could even result in a "pull backup" solution being added on later.

Would be happy to pay an additional (larger) license for this particular piece of software.

There is already work in progress for this, also for the pull backups

Would be great. If it was possible to move backups between destination storage A to B or C. And indexes all subdirectories in backup destinations A,B,C ( rebuild the hard links.). Then if you move customers' accounts between your servers the customers' can have all the backups and history brought with them to the new server.

It would also work with backup, if you replicate customers between servers. Something I think you are already working on. if multiple servers shared a central backup directory

As a server administrator, this would be great to handle this in one place and have a good overview !

This application should work in an independent VPS (much like R1Soft backup manager)

and does not need to have lots of resources.

Hi,

The JetBackupMC is an independent APP and can be installed on a VPS.

As for the resources, If you are not going to use the MC server as your backup server as well, the JetBackupMC won't require many resources.

Regards.

Hi,

We are stopping the ALPHA testing at this stage.

We have found some issues with JetBackupMC which are under development and should be solved soon.

Once we have a more stable build we will reach out to you with installation instructions.

Sorry for the inconvenience, hope to solve current bugs as soon as possible and grow our Alpha testers community.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.‏

Just a follow up to update the JetBackupMC has been released to public EDGE tier.

Please see https://www.jetbackup.com/jetbackup-management-console/ for further information.

Will this mean that root can restore accounts to any server they want instead of just the one it's on ?

Andy,

The JetbackupMC currently used for informative management only where you can monitor all alerts from one central place.

You can also control all servers from the Management console by using remote login, please see attached image.

What are the requirements for installing this?

Will it need a separate VPS?

Hi,

Yes the JetBackup MC requires A clean CentOS 7.X Minimal Install.

You can get more installing information on the JetBackup MC Documentation

I thought this would run from the backup server just like r1soft does and you can restore accounts from one server to any other you wish ? so can't really see the point you might aswell just login each server separately, plus customers resotre there own accounts.

I wanted something like r1soft where you login one place and can see all the servers and you can then restore account from server 1 to server 2 or 3 or 4 that way if a server goes offline you can resotre all the sites that was on that server to a new one fast.

So, just to make sure I understand correctly, JetBackup MC is really just a way to monitor what each server is doing from one place. Any actual server interaction is done individually via remote connection. All backup jobs continue as they were individually set up?

Does the Job Optimizer run in conjunction with those settings, override them, or?? The docs aren't fully clear as to the impact of this.

Like Andy, I was hoping you could restore backups from other servers. Maybe in a future version.

I was also hoping for the ability to deploy config changes from here across multiple servers instead of having to individually remote connect to 20+ servers to make the change. Again, hopefully in a future version.
