Download Links

Under Consideration

Hello,

Please add this feature where we could share the download links of backup file so that client can download it directly.

Not every reseller is given access to JetBackup, hence, there should be a way to share download link with clients..

Hello,

May be you could use a primary domain or account to store downloaded files from storage server and allow download link to the file on that account/domain?

Hi,

Nice idea, but even if we share a link - How do you overcomes the cPanel login issue ?

Access to backups must be authenticated through cPanel first.

Thanks,

Eli.

Hi,

This should be considered with extra caution as it opens many security concerns. Furthermore, it will require to develop a "download" sharing system to prevent data leak.

Not sure if this worth the efforts, let's wait a little and see how popular this feature goes.

Thanks,

Eli.

OK I came here due to frustration - I couldn't find the path on the server to the download easily so I could copy the download to another account.

Here's what would meet my need, with increasing levels of sophistication/work from jetbackup team:-

1) if the download button/ summary area in whm would provide the local file path (e.g. in button URL or as copy local path button) so I can copy it and move the file manually for download OR

2) if I can nominate a 'download location download user and download URL prefix' in settings. Jetbackup at press of a button can move the file there and change ownership and render me a link which I can then share. OR

3) Jetbackup at press a button can enable an anonymous URL for the life of the download.

Thank you

Hi Kerry,

Thank you for those suggestions.

This request is still under our development team consideration to decide on this implementation.

And how to overcome authentication and security issues of this request.

Regards.
