User note option

HelloIt would be great if there was a user note option on backup and restore. People who build systems have trouble separating, all different versions of snapshots and restores.

After a while, many overlapping backups and recoveries that are difficult to handle correct file version or parts of it!.

As an administrator this is highly desirable.

Hi,

Can you please elaborate more about this? Can you add some real life examples ?

Thanks,

Eli.

ICUB hasn't replied but I can tell you what we use backup notes for in another system we use:

Let's assume you have WordPress set up in an account. You want to create a backup of the installed version 4.8.3 before upgrading to 4.9.1 and want to mark it as "last version 4.8.3" for example so that if you make more backups before upgrading some plugins (which you mark with what upgrades are included) you know what backup has what upgrade status.

Hi,

I think we should add the "notes" to our snapshot system, as the backup jobs are "automated" and the snapshots are manually created by the user.

Does this makes sense ?

Hi,

Thank you, we opened an internal case for this one (no milestone/due date yet).

It's planned somewhere around JetBackup 3.2.10+ Versions
