As JetBackup 5 continues to deliver high-performance, secure, and reliable backup management across platforms, we’re thrilled to expand our panel ecosystem by bringing full JetBackup 5 functionality to Webuzo servers.

Please Note: JetBackup 5 utilizes the unified JetBackup Core and structure, offering full cross-platform restore flexibility across supported control panels.

Key Features & Highlights:

Cross-Platform Restores: Seamlessly backup and restore accounts across different control panels and platforms.
Granular Control & Multi-Threading: Fine-grained control over individual account items (files, databases, cron jobs, DNS) with optimized multi-threaded backups and restores.
Expanded Destination Support: Incremental backups to S3-compatible storage like AWS and Wasabi, JetBackup Premium Cloud Storage, SSH/SFTP, etc...
Extensible API Architecture: Full API integration capabilities enabling smooth inter-panel compatibility and automated management.

The Public ALPHA release of JetBackup for Webuzo comes with a FREE 10-Day Trial for all new installations.

How Can You Help?

Your feedback is crucial during this ALPHA phase. Testing in active server environments enables our engineering team to identify edge cases and release fixes rapidly, while assisting us in refining our integration with the Webuzo environment.

To install the ALPHA release on your Webuzo server, run the following commands as root:

By submitting bug reports, feature feedback, and testing results, you directly contribute to optimizing our software performance and accelerating the path toward a STABLE release.

Webuzo is set to be the latest and possibly best alternative to cpanel. We are planning a migration of more than 20 servers to Webuzo and would like to see JetBackup 5 available as soon as possible. If you reach out to the developers I'm sure they will be more than happy to work with you to integrate your product.

Does this mean that if the Webuzo team fails to implement JetBackup, you won't be able to do so either? If that happens, it would likely create challenges in managing backups effectively. As a result, exploring alternative solutions may become necessary to ensure data integrity and security.

We don't see any reason for this to fail.

JetBackup gathers all the necessary information from the panel via API, and we've created a development interface kit for Webuzo, which consists of basic, empty functions with examples.

All we need are the correct API endpoints. This approach has worked with every panel we’ve integrated with. Given how deeply we interact with the panels, I can confidently say that we've encountered API issues with all the panels we support, and the respective vendors have been very accommodating in resolving them.

For instance, if there’s no API support to retrieve email account data for a suspended account, we wouldn’t be able to back up that account and would need to collaborate with the panel vendor to find a solution.

I personally initiated and participated in an online meeting with their team, but for some reason, this doesn’t seem to have been prioritized by them.

How can you compare Webuzo's Backuply to Jetbackup? I assume you are joking?

Jetbackup has cross-platform compatibility so that means Jetbackup backup taken on a Directadmin server can be restored on a Cpanel server. Jetbackup also has several customization absent on Backuply.

I get that the Webuzo team has been focusing on their own backup system, Backuply, and honestly, it looks like a solid tool so far. It’s great to see them building something native into the panel.

That said, a lot of us still prefer JetBackup for its flexibility and features—especially the cross-panel compatibility and advanced backup/restore options. It’s been a go-to solution for managing backups across multiple environments, and it just works really well.

I really hope that once things settle down with Backuply, the Webuzo team can revisit the JetBackup integration. Even if both tools exist side-by-side, giving users the option to choose would be a big win.

Big thanks to the JetApps team for staying open and supportive of the integration. Fingers crossed we’ll see some progress on this soon!
